CKAPUR’s social commitment:
The Andean Puna is inhabited by native communities that have maintained the culture and forms of life from the Past. They are the original inhabitants of territories including salt flats, volcanoes, and lagoons. The scientific team led by Dr. Farias has closely worked together with different native communities: Kollas Atacameñas from Salta, Catamarca (Argentina), Atacama (Chile) and Mayas (Quintana Roo, México) educating, communicating, and supporting the conservation of extremophile ecosystems in those regions.
As proof of our social commitment, and following the Nagoya protocol, CKAPUR pledges a percentage of our sales to support the local communities, and the provinces where the biodiversity that supports our technology was discovered.
In this way, preserving biodiversity not only protects the
planet, but also creates positive economic value to the local
communities and governments.
